Now the bad news. It was expensive (the cheapest I have found it was $8, which is what I paid at Walmart) and the can won't last nearly as long as the lotion sunscreen you have to rub in. Also, you shouldn't spray it on your face as the alcohol in the spray that causes it to dry quickly can burn eyes. On our faces I used Coppertone Water Babies lotion SPF 50 for the kids and Hawaiian Tropic Oil Free Faces SPF 30 for myself. Those were my only "downs" to the spray sunscreen and they are heavily outweighed by the easy spray application (especially on the kids), it dries almost immediately, and best of all no one got sunburned!
So, hopefully there's some useful summer shopping advise on sunscreen from a mom who found one that is really convenient and really works.

I recently discovered another problem with the spray sunscreen. Yesterday we were getting ready to go to the waterpark and I sprayed it on the kids while they were in the house. The mist is fine and it gets on everything.
Fortunately we were on the tile floor (I could see the outline of Kate's footprints). It cleaned up with a lot of elbow grease but our house smells like Coppertone! I'm only using it outside from now on.

I enjoyed seeing you at the park!! I too love the ease of the spray stuff, but the price just gets me. I could pay it if it lasted longer than a few swims! I do use it to re-apply and it is great for that. I have tried the Target brand and like it just as well!! Cheaper!! Not to mention a good excuse for a Target trip. My priorities are straight!!
I don't tan either - I go straight from white to burned red. (One of my nicknames in high school was Casper.) I've learned to shun the sun and hide in the shade and lather on sunscreen by the gallons. So thanks for the heads-up on the sunscreen! It will come in handy!
